The lid opens to reveal a large green leather writing slope with inner compartments to both sides and recesses for pens and inkwells

The top back rest is a later replacement and one of the back spindles differs slightly from the others

There are some light surface scratches to the glass and some small scratches to the silver at the top rear cover edge (presumably from opening and closing) but overall the case remains in a very good condition throughout
