House Wren in Boulder Raspberry Size:25 x 12This painting celebrates a house wren in spring on one of my favorite native shrubs. When these little birds return from their wintering grounds, they immediately begin singing and undertake active inspection of nest sites including natural crevices and bird houses. In my yard, they seem to love perching in the beautiful Boulder Raspberry bushes that explode with large white flowers in late May. While the wrens are setting up territories, building

Spotted Towhees are always a delight to see

I saw mariposa flowers scattered widely in many places in the foothills where I had never noticed them in previous years
