Antique Navajo Dine Transitional Eye Dazzler Rug, Circa 1885 - 1895 #old taxco jewelryThis vibrant large size rug displays Saltillo Rio Grande elements and homespun wool with both natural and aniline dyed yarns. The design features two stacked zig zag diamond panels with a jagged sawtooth center dividing line and border elements influenced by the Spanish woven blankets so valued in New Mexico by the weavers of the Rio Grande blankets. The rug is in excellent condition, has a provenance and has been published in an exhibition catalogue

But it is a solid and robust bronze

The design elements are heavily influenced by the Classic Mexican saltillo Design of the 19th Century
