The Lackey Shiraz PieropanOur Shiraz is sourced from ancient Victorian soils in order to achieve a wine with greater finesse, purity and structure as well as typical eucalypt flavours and saline finish assosciated with the area. Picked at night and crushed wthin an hour of picking before being sent to the fermentation tanks. The Shiraz grapes were fermented in temperature controlled tanks maintained at 22 25C to avoid extracting any harsh tannins, with the fermentations pumped

fruity flavours and a subtle and delicate pink colour from limited contact with the skins of classic Port grape varieties

First made in 1960 by the legendary Max Schubert

We then left the wine sitting in tank on its lees (spent yeast cells that boost body and complexity) for three months before bottling

with balanced tannins and an excellent bright finish

Certified biodynamic with Demeter NZ and Certified Organic with BioGro NZ

Both assertive and sustainable in its luxury

and despite being a hot and dry year

As far as harvest started very early we had chance to collect some grapes and aszú berries
