Mercato Handwoven Tote in Steel Blue Leather WebLaunchDate_2024-03-04Our handwoven Mercato bags are modeled after classic straw market totes and while they're usually cotton, this one's made of luxe leather. Each one is handmade in Italy all in one piece including the handles! using an intertwined weaving technique that has been passed down through generations. While the sides are unlined and airy, there's a sturdy leather bottom and a snap closure at the top to keep everything secure inside.

We worked with our beltmaker on this one to make use of the smaller remnant pieces of leather left over from making our bridle belts

and delicate pintucks through the sleeves and body

It only gets softer — without pilling

This functions with the same twist-and-push mechanism as a ballpoint

Each pair has been garment-dyed to just the right shade of khaki — super versatile for shorts

And since it's made at a small
